TDI DECO PROCEDURES
You have decided technical diving is for you and began to master your in water skills. Now you are ready for the dreaded decompression stops and safely diving to 150'
*This course can be combined with TDI's ADVANCED NITROX
The certified Advanced Diver looking to expand their knowledge of decompression theory and diving techniques
The certified Advanced Diver who is interested in extending their bottom time
The certified Advanced Diver who has interest in moving forward with technical diving education
Minimum age 18
Minimum certification of SDI Advanced Adventure Diver, Advanced Diver, or equivalent
Proof of 25 logged open water dives
Decompression dive planning including:
Decompression gas choices
Tables vs. personal dive computers
Emergency and contingency planning (equipment failure, omitted decompression, etc.)
Decompression diving procedures
Equipment selection
Pre-dive checks and drills
Stress analysis and mitigation
Following a decompression schedule
Gas switching
Team awareness and communication
SMB/lift bag deployment
Proper trim, buoyancy and finning techniques
Emergency procedures (equipment failures, catastrophic gas loss, omitted decompression, navigational errors, etc.)
Equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, analyzing nitrox mixtures, and gas blending procedures
Ability to conduct decompression diving activities without direct supervision provided:
The diving activities approximate those of training
The areas of activities approximate those of training
Environmental conditions approximate those of training
Ability to enroll in TDI Advanced Nitrox, TDI Extended Range, TDI Advanced Wreck, TDI Trimix courses
Satisfactorily complete the TDI Decompression Procedures course written examination
Complete all open water requirements safely and efficiently
Demonstrate mature, sound judgment concerning dive planning and execution
Our courses are scheduled with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 4 students to ensure quality student instruction and attention while providing the opportunity to learn true team diving and planning. This course consists of eLearning, classroom sessions each dive day, and a minimum of 3 days of diving.
Enrollment in this course does not guarantee certification. Students must perform all skills and knowledge assessments at a level above what is expected in recreational courses. We will not issue a certification to divers who are a threat to themselves or others.
Pricing
eLearning and classroom- $750
Open Water Dives- This course requires 4 open water dives, unless combined with the TDI ADVANCED NITROX course. If combined a minimum of 6 dives is required. While the minimum is 6 dives, most students require 8 in order to be fully prepared to conduct dives involving decompression obligations. Cost for open water dives vary based on location and site availability.
Equipment Requirements- At Divers Below Scuba we believe once you have reached the level of TDI's ADVANCED NITROX and DECO PROCEDURES you should have your own equipment. Rental gear will be available in very limited circumstances. At this point in your technical journey you are expected to quickly and confidently respond to in water emergencies. In order to do so, you must be extremely comfortable with your gear. This cannot be accomplished utilizing rental equipment.
